Day 1 - Head north from Durban through the beautiful rolling countryside of KwaZulu-Natal. Your expert Battlefield guide will recount the 1879 battle of Isandlwana, where 24000 Zulus took on the firepower of the British troops and wiped out almost an entire regiment in less than an hour. From here visit Fugitive's Drift, and on to Rorke's Drift, where a handful of British soldiers, outnumbered 35 to 1, fought off 4000 Zulus. In the evening enjoy dinner with your fellow travellers and delightful guest house accommodation.
Day 2 - After a hearty South African breakfast you'll travel to the summit of Spioenkop Mountain. From here your guide will recreate the tragic battle between Boer and British which unfolded over 9 days in January 1900. Continue a little further to visit the spot of the famous armoured train incident, where Winston Churchill, a young war reporter, was among those captured. After lunch enjoy the scenic drive back to Durban.
