Day 1  Morning departure from Cape Town, travel via Sir Lowry's Pass towards the historic town of Swellendam, stopping for a winery tour and tasting along the way. During whale season (Jun-Dec) you will make an extra stop in Hermanus, famous for its land based whale watching. In the afternoon continue to Swellendam for dinner and overnight.

Day 2  After breakfast, travel to Knysna where you will have some time at leisure before taking an excursion to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. The trip includes a ferry across the lagoon to the base of the western head, a drive to the top of the reserve and an optional 2.2 kilometre downhill nature trail walk. The tour ends with a delicious lunch served under the shade of the milkwood trees. On return to the mainland, continue your journey to Plettenberg Bay for the following two nights.

Day 3 This morning you visit the Knysna Elephant Park where you will have the chance photograph and interact with these gentle giants. In the afternoon travel to the Tsitsikamma National Park one of the most beautiful places along the Garden Route. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge which offers visitors incredible views and photo opportunities.

Day 4 Head off from Plettenberg Bay in the morning and travel via George and the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and lunch and afterwards continue to the impressive Cango Caves. Dinner and overnight in Oudtshoorn.  

Day 5  Travel along the famous Route 62 taking in the simply breathtaking scenery along the way, you will arrive in Cape Town in the early evening.
