THE GARDEN ROUTE BY MOTORHOME - FROM CAPE TOWN

A memorable 15 day journey taking in the highlights of this beautiful part of the country with all your campsites pre-booked and the journey planned for you.

Day 1 - to Simon’s Town for 2 nights (52km)
Collect your motorhome and set off on your adventure, spend 2 nights in the quaint fishing village of Simon’s Town famed for its penguins. Explore the coast down to Cape Point see where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.

Day 3 - To Stellenbosch (60km)
Take in the remarkable scenery en route to the famous winelands for a 2 night stay. Don’t miss a winery visit and the charming town of Franschhoek famed for its fine food, shops and galleries it makes a pleasant stop for lunch and a browse in the town. 

Day 5 - to Swellendam (183km)
Take a leisurely drive to Swellendam where you overnight and take in the wonderful scenery along the way.

Day 6 - to Knysna for 2 nights (290km)
Head to the town of Knysna which is attractively set on a lagoon with whole array of things to see and do. During your two night stay don’t miss Featherbed Nature Reserve and perhaps take a trip on the lagoon.

Day 8 - to Storms River Mouth (102km)
Enjoy a relaxing 2 night stay at Storms River Mouth in the Tsitsikamma National Park. Explore walking trails, swim in the sea or enjoy your glorious surroundings.

Day 10 - to Addo National Park (223km)
Make an early start this morning for your journey to Addo National Park, famous for its elephants. You’ll enjoy seeing these mighty creatures in the wild and maybe enjoy a sundowner next to a waterhole. Overnight at a campsite within the park.

Day 11 - to Oudtshoorn for 2 nights (398km)
The ostrich capital of the world is not to be missed, visit a farm and perhaps even ride an ostrich! During your two night stay don’t miss Cango Caves.

Day 13 - to Bontebok National Park (221km)
Travel to this stunning national park near to Swellensdam and see African nature at its best.

Day 14 - to Hermanus (148km)
Famous for its land based whale watching from August until January and a genuinely interesting town to explore at any time of year.

Day 15 - to Cape Town (102km)
Head back to Cape Town and return your vehicle before catching your onward flight.
