Classic South Africa - Rovos Rail Escape

Combine the Rovos Rail with a stay in fabulous Cape Town and a relaxing escorted tour along the magnificent Garden Route.

Day 1 - Spend a day discovering South Africa’s capital city of Pretoria, with its wide tree lined streets and fine old buildings.

Day 2 - Board Rovos Rail at its terminal in Pretoria for a romantic and scenic journey to Cape Town. You'll visit the Majiesfontein and the Kimberley diamond mine on the way and enjoy the fine dining and superb service that the train is famous for.

Day 4 - On arrival in Cape Town you will be transferred to the Radisson Blu for an exciting 4 night stay in this beautiful city. You can choose optional tours to the Cape of Good Hope or Robben Island or enjoy a cable car ride to Table Mountain.

Day 7 - This morning join our small group, fully escorted Garden Route Highlights tour. You'll pass through the beautiful Winelands, the parched landscape of the Little Karoo and the spectacular Outeniqua Pass on your journey to Knysna on Africa's wild southern coast.

Day 10 - Your tour ends in Port Elizabeth, capital of the Eastern Cape, or can be extended with a safari stay at one of the area's excellent game lodges.   

Cape Town - Pretoria departs on Mondays and selected other days.

Escape price includes accommodation, transfers and Rovos Rail journey, plus all meals and drinks on the train. Itinerary can operate in reverse direction. Pretoria - Cape Town departs on Fridays and selected other days.
