Hippo Hollow

The lodge has a beautiful setting in endless grasslands overlooking the rolling plains. You are well located for exploring the Kruger National Park as it is only 10 minutes away. You are also within easy reach of Pilgrim’s Rest and God’s Window and approximately 5 hours drive from Johannesburg and 40 minutes from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport.

You can arrange a whole array of activities from the hotel including game drives, trips to a wildlife rehabilitation centre and balloon safaris. The location is perfect for just relaxing and listening to the sounds of Africa.

This classic colonial style hotel is set amongst the sweet Mango trees of the original Casterbridge Farm in White River. Kruger National Park is just 30 minutes away giving easy access to the spectacular wildlife.

The nearby Casterbridge centre is located next to the hotel where you will find a whole selection of different restaurants as well as art galleries and gift shops. You are also conveniently located approximately half an hour from Nelspruit and just around an hour from Hazyview and Sabie.

Protea Hotel Kruger Gate

The hotel sits on the banks of the Sabie River just a short distance from the Paul Kruger Gate entrance to the park. It’s approximately half an hour from Hazyview or around four hours drive from Johannesburg.

You can arrange full day as well as morning and afternoon game drives at £65 or full day at £85 per person. When you are not out spotting big game spend your days exploring the grounds where you might see hippo or elephant from the viewing deck.
