Kariega Game Reserve

This malaria-free "Big-5" private game reserve is set in 9000 hectares of pristine African wilderness incorporating the picturesque Kariega and Bushman’s Rivers, just 10 minutes from Kenton-on-sea and 80 minutes from Port Elizabeth. Situated in the heart of 1820 Settler Country, the reserve is a natural extension to a trip along South Africa’s famous Garden Route.

Morning and evening game drives with experienced rangers give guests the opportunity of game viewing from open vehicles and Kariega is also unique in its offering of a diverse range of activities, which include: safe walking close to abundant game and birdlife, river cruises, canoeing, fishing, a spa and gym and visits to the nearby golden beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.

Accommodation - Main Lodge is ideal for families, friends and couples alike and offers a relaxed environment to enjoy the African bush. All the chalets are air conditioned and have large private viewing decks.

Ukhozi Lodge truly captures the romance of Africa, with a small number of suites each with private plunge pool and fantastic panoramic views over the valley.

River Lodge sits on the banks of the Bushman's River and has a small number of luxury thatched suites with spectacular river views.

The price includes all meals, selected drinks (except Main Lodge), morning and evening game drives per day and guests can enjoy a variety of other activities on a free of charge basis.
