Elephant House - Addo

This delightful, colonial-style guest house is the perfect base for exploring Addo Elephant National Park and Zuurberg region. The house is set amongst the lemon and orange groves of the Sundays Reiver Valley, just 45 minutes from Port Elizabeth and eight kilometres from the Park's entrance.

Elephant House offers ranger guided tours or you can head out to explore the Park in your own rental car - Addo is famed for its elephants but also boasts, lion, buffalo, black rhino and a variety or antelope species. To relax at the end of the day there is a pleasant pool, library, large lounge and shaded terraces overlooking the gardens. Lunch and dinner are also available to guests.

Carnarvon Dale - Amakhala

Carnarvon Dale is located in the Amakhala Game Reserve and is made up of two former farm houses which date back to 1857. There are gardens to relax in and a cooling swimming pool which is perfect in between game drives.

In the evening you can relive your big game adventures with other guests around  the fire and enjoy delicious home cooked food - it’s surprising what an appetite game viewing can give you!

Accommodation - The rooms are simply furnished in period style with private shower room.

Woodbury Lodge - Amakhala

Woodbury Lodge is spectacularly set against a cliff with views over the Bushman’s River Valley and is ideal for couples or families who are looking for small and intimate lodge in a wonderful setting. The six rooms are air conditioned and there’s a small swimming pool and sundeck.

The secluded location means that you can enjoy the breathtaking views between game activies, if you’re lucky you might see a herd of elephant pass by in the late afternoon. In the evening enjoy dinner with your fellow guests in the dining room and enjoy good country home cooked food before sitting around the fire to exchange tales of your day adventures.

Leeuwenbosch Country House - Amakhala

Leeuwenbosch Country House was originally built in 1908 and still retains much of its historic charm. Now part of the Amakhala Game Reserve, it sits in pretty gardens and makes an ideal base for families or couples. In between game drives there’s a lounge to relax in or take a dip in the swimming pool. In the evening relive your adventures in the cosy cellar pub.

Safari Lodge - Amakhala

Safari Lodge on the Amakhala Game Reserve is tucked away in the bush and is built in the style of a traditional African village. It is ideal for couples and older families (children under 9 not accepted) who want an authentic bush experience. Kariega Game Reserve

This malaria-free "Big-5" private game reserve is set in 9000 hectares of pristine African wilderness incorporating the picturesque Kariega and Bushman’s Rivers, just 10 minutes from Kenton-on-sea and 80 minutes from Port Elizabeth. Situated in the heart of 1820 Settler Country, the reserve is a natural extension to a trip along South Africa’s famous Garden Route.

Pumba Game Reserve

Located an hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth and set in the beautiful countryside of the Eastern Cape. You’ll find abundant wildlife including all of the Big 5 including the incredibly rare white lions.

As well as big game there is excellent bird watching, night drives, bush walks and fishing all under the guidance of experienced rangers. In between game drives take time to indulge in the spa or simply relax and enjoy the quite breathtaking setting. 

Water Lodge is set overlooking a magnificent deep water lake, which is home to 10 hippo and offers thatched chalets decorated in contemporary African style.  Spacious and stylish with excellent home cooked food, swimming pool, outdoor dining area and bar.

Accommodation - The large rooms are all air conditioned and have their own plunge pool and a private viewing deck offering panoramic views of the lake and game reserve.

Long Lee Manor - Shamwari

Probably the best known and certainly the largest game reserve on the Eastern Cape. About an hour from Port Elizabeth, Shamwari has been at the forefront of conservation in the region for many years and offers its guests a quite unique experience.

Fantastic ranger/guides will really help you to understand the cycle of life in the bush and small groups on game drives makes for a more personal experience. For your free time you will find a lounge, dining room, two swimming pools, bar and barn with open fireplace, there is also a relaxation retreat with two therapy rooms, steam and sauna. 

Accommodation – Long Lee Manor is a beautifully restored house which takes you back to the colonial days, the rooms are all air conditioned and have television, private bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities. Note: Children under 12 not permitted.

Kuzuko Game Reserve - Addo

The reserve sits in its own extensive grounds adjacent to Addo National Park. This relatively new addition to the Eastern Cape offers excellent game viewing and a high standard of accommodation. Leisure facilities include a restaurant, bar, lounge and swimming pool. The lodge sits on the edge of small Karoo and has breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside.

Accommodation – Kuzuko Lodge rooms are spacious and attractively furnished with television, air conditioning, telephone, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, bathroom with bath, shower. All the rooms have a deck with views of the mountains.
