Day 1 - Depart from London aboard your scheduled flight to Durban. Relax and enjoy free drinks, meals and in-flight entertainment.
Day 2 - When you arrive in Durban you’ll be met by our representative and transferred to the Quarters Hotel, located right in the heart of Durban’s fashionable Florida Road, so you’re within easy reach of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.
During your stay in the seaside city visit the famous golden mile and take in local life. Revitalised in recent years, Durban’s beachfront is popular with the locals and visitors alike for swimming, surfing, beachside walks, jogging and cycling.
Day 5 - This morning your hire car will be delivered to your hotel. Head north from Durban through attractive countryside and fields of gently waving sugar cane to Mkuze in the heart of Zululand for a two night stay at Ghost Mountain Inn.
Take a day to explore Maputaland and the Elephant Coast. You can visit the hippos and beaches at St Lucia or go game spotting in the nearby Mkuze and Hluhluwe Game Reserves.
Day 7 - Head west today towards the famous Battlefields region, where the British fought the Zulus and the Boers in turn. A two night stay at The Royal Country Inn in Dundee allows you to explore the region and maybe visit Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, sites of two major battles.
Day 9 - After breakfast drive to the beautiful Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa’s highest peaks and a world heritage site. You'll stay at Montusi Mountain Lodge where there are free guided walks and self guided trails to the waterfalls and ancient rock paintings in the area. You can also go riding or simply relax and enjoy the countryside and the views.
Day 11 - Explore a little more of the Drakensberg before heading back to Durban and the coast. Alternatively, cross the mountains for the journey north to Johannesburg. You can drop your car at either destination before boarding your flight back to the UK.
