Day 1 - Fly by scheduled airline from London or other regional airport to Mombasa, on Kenya's Indian Ocean coast. Enjoy free meals and drinks on your overnight flight.

Day 2  - On arrival at Mombasa airport you will be met and transferred to the delightful Papillon Lagoon Reef Resort on Diani Beach.

Your journey through Mombasa town and across the river ferry to the south is a great introduction to Africa. Open fronted shops and stalls line the streets, selling all manner of foodstuffs and brightly coloured materials, as the apparently chaotic traffic meanders through. Just 30 minutes further south, Diani Beach is in a different world. Its soft white sands are fringed by native palms and washed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

The landscaped gardens of the Papillon stretch right down to the beach, providing your own tropical paradise. Spend your days relaxing in the gardens or round the lagoon shaped pool. For the more active, there is a watersports centre and tennis court or take a trip to Mombasa to see the sights of the Old Port, historic Fort Jesus and the lively street markets and bazaars.

Day 6  -  This morning you will be collected from the Resort for a magical two day safari to amazing Tsavo National Park.

Journey east from Mombasa to enter a vast region of low savannah grassland, scattered with thornbush, acacia and baobab trees. Look out for lions, leopards, kudus and hippos, as well as herds of elephants and zebra that roam across the Tsavo region.

Your overnight stay is at Ngutuni Lodge, a 10,000 acre game sanctuary, surrounded on three sides by the National Park. The lodge overlooks a waterhole in the shadow of the Sagala Hills. Enjoy an excellent lodge style breakfast in the morning before more game viewing and your return to Mombasa.

Day 7  -  Spend a further three nights relaxing at the Papillon Lagoon Reef Resort. Try the watersports or book a guided snorkelling trip to Wasini Island and the coral reef around Kisite.

Day 10  -  Say farewell to the Papillon as you are transferred to Mombasa airport for your flight home.
