In June 2010 the World Cup comes to Africa. The hosts, South Africa, have built magnificent new stadiums throughout the country and upgraded roads and airports in the build up to the biggest celebration of football the continent has ever seen.

 

With hundreds of officials, media and television crews, many hotels in host cities are already fully booked. Others are charging high prices for the World Cup period. The Group Stages of the competition, from 11^th to 25^th June will be held in nine host cities:

Cape Town - Port Elizabeth - Bloemfontein - Pretoria - Durban - 
Polokwane - Nelspruit - Rustenburg - Johannesburg

 

The Quarter and Semi final will be played in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth, with the final in Johannesburg on 11^th July 2010.
