Africat Foundation - From Windhoek
This unique self drive Explorer takes you to Okonjima, home of the famous Africat Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation set up to conserve and protect threatened cheetah, leopard, and other wild carnivores of Namibia.
The drive from Windhoek takes approximately 2 ½ hours and we have included activities each day to make the most of your time. This is a truly remarkable experience which will give you an insight into wildlife conservation like nowhere else.
Day 1 - After breakfast your rental car will be delivered to your hotel and you can make the journey north west towards Okonjima. In the afternoon take your first game drive, you may be lucky enough to see some of the resident leopards. Return to camp for a hearty dinner and afterwards visit the hide for some night time game viewing.
Day 2 -This morning you can choose from a walk with the Bushmen where you learn about the life and customs of the San people. Alternatively you can go hyena tracking with your guide. Later in the day take a dip in the pool before dinner.
Day 3 - You might like to take a self guided walking trail after breakfast before heading back to Windhoek or alternatively continue to another part of the country.
