Look out for herds of elephant, black rhino and many of the big cats such as cheetah, lion and perhaps the elusive leopard. The Namib Desert can claim a history dating back many millions of years. One of the highlights are the clay pans of Sossusvlei with their deep red sand dunes and amazing landscape sculpted by the wind.

The Skeleton Coast to the north is one of the most inhospitable places in the world. The name arises from the treacherous nature of the waters and its stark dunes, mountains and canyons have a stark beauty of their own.
