Discover Namibia

Sossusvlei | Swakopmund | Damaraland | Etosha

Travel with a group of like-minded people across the stark and beautiful landscapes of Namibia where you will see the awe-inspiring seas of sand of the Namib desert, the culture and awesome landscapes of Damaraland and the huge variety of wildlife in Etosha.

Day 2 - Sossusvlei
This morning visit the spectacular Sossusvlei where you can take the opportunity to walk up one of the dunes to admire the desert landscape beneath. You will be mesmerized by the surreal Deadvlei with its petrified trees contrasting against the white salt pan, orange dunes and blue sky. Later visit Sesriem Canyon, one for the few reliable water sources in the parched  Namib Desert.

Day 3 Swakopmund
After breakfast travel via the desolate Kuiseb Moon Valley to Walvis Bay on the Atlantic Ocean to visit the shallow lagoon where over 80% of African flamingos feed. Continue along scenic dune belts to Swakopmund where the next two days are at leisure. With palm-lined seaside promenades and a pleasant summer climate, Swakopmund is a popular holiday destination. Relax on the beach, in one of the cafes or beach bars, or explore the rugged desert on a day tour. For the more adventurous, this is Namibia's adrenaline capital with activities such as skydiving, quad biking and sand boarding on the dunes.

Standard hotels: Swakopmund Plaza
Superior hotels: Strand

Day 5 - Damaraland
Heading further north, we travel past the Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain and into Damaraland, one of the least populated and geologically diverse areas in Africa. This harsh, rocky environment is home to the rare desert elephant, the black rhino and free-roaming antelope species. Visit Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO heritage site to view the 6,000 year-old Bushman paintings, before visiting the nearby Living Museum, the Petrified Forest with its geological formations and the Welwitschia mirabilis - the oldest living desert plant on Earth.

Standard hotels: Damara Mopane Lodge
Superior hotels: Vingerklip Lodge

Day 6 - Etosha National Park
After breakfast travel towards the Etosha National Park, one of Africa's finest wildlife havens and known for its vast amount of wildlife and unique landscape. Over the coming days, head out on game drives into the park with your guide to explore the waterholes that form along the vast salt pan. These attract a large variety of game including giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, lion, leopard, oryx, as well as endangered species such as Black rhino, cheetah and black-faced impala.

Standard hotels: Etosha Safari Camp
Superior hotels: Etosha Village

Day 9 - Departure
